What is the Zone diet?
It’s a diet created by Dr. Barry Sears, in which the main goal isn’t weight loss, but bringing the body to a state of hormonal balance.
What are the benefits?
Increased energy and well-being.
Loss of excess body fat.
Lower levels of fasting insulin.
Lower levels of glycosylated hemoglobin.
Lowering the triglyceride-to-high-density-lipoprotein-cholesterol ratio.
It helps improve immune system function.

It helps prevent or ameliorate chronical disease throughout the body.
What is it about?
This diet emphasizes carbohydrate, protein and fat consumption in a 40:30:30 ratio. It also introduces Omega 3 fatty acids into the diet, in a proportion adequate to achieving hormonal balance.
In order to include carbohydrates, proteins and fats in the Zone diet, we speak of these three components as BLOCKS, units of measure that will allow you to calculate, according to each person’s characteristics (weight, height, activity, BMI…) what you should eat at any meal, in order to maintain a balanced diet.
